God, prepare my heart to hear from you today, amen.
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Christoper Walken is known for his unique speech patterns. Michael Jordan is known for being the best basketball player to ever play the game. Chip and Joanna Gaines are known for fixing up people’s houses. While these people are famous for their respective skillset, most people have something they are known for by people close to them. Is there something that you are known for?
After Jesus washes the feet of the disciples and Judas leaves to betray him, he talks with his disciples and gives them a new command. In that new command is the declaration that followers of Jesus will be known by their love, and specifically their love for one another. The Christian life is one that is visibly marked by love and can be spotted by others. What are you known for?
