Suit Up Tribe Questions - Week 7 - Helmets Save Lives
Have you ever fallen with a helmet on? How did the helmet protect you?
What stood out to you from the message?
See the outline below from the message, and discuss how salvation impacts your life.
1: Helmets save
Salvation is like a helmet, it literally saves your life.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Acts 4:11-12 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Mark 16:16 [Jesus said] Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
2: Helmets protect your mind/thoughts
Rom. 12:2 Do not be conformed to this w3orld, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Phil. 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
3: Helmets direct vision
Prov. 19:21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Matt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
4: Helmets protect against what lies behind
Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
5: Helmets identify your position
The Romans were known for having a plum or crest on many of their helmet designs, made of naturally dyed horse hair.
It is believed that these crests were used mainly to identify position or rank of the soldier.
Salvation is now the marker in our lives…showing our rank to the world.
And baptism is the public announcement of our new identity.
Read Rom. 6:1-11 as a group and discuss how baptism helps you proclaim your new identity in Christ?
